Confidence....One word 2013

Hi there!! If you read my previous post about Reflections of 2012 and new beginnings for 2013, you know I have a lot of things I want to do this year. In order to do these things, I decided on one word for 2013 – CONFIDENCE! I will need to have the confidence to accomplish some of what I want to do. I got the idea from my friend, Mrs. K, over at the blog www.ishouldbewashingclothes.wordpress.com. Check out her post here. Her word for 2013 is Courage.

I’m going to work on my confidence, the confidence to carry through with commitments, to be happy and make others around me happy. I started working on it in 2012 and will continue in 2013. I’ve been through different things in my life, it makes me no better than anyone else. What I do know about myself, is when I’m around people I admire, which includes people I’ve met only once in my life, Christian leaders to the most experienced runners I know. I once met China Phillips and her husband Steve Baldwin at a Christian concert. I had a
Picture taken with Mr. Baldwin, it was all I could do to not squeal like a teenage girl! All I could do was smile at him! I wanted so bad to tell China Phillips how my girlfriends and I used to ride around back roads singing to Wilson Phillips growing up and how i admired her for singing Christian music. I tend to clam up and say things that are silly or get such a lump in my throat I can’t talk to them….perhaps that is when a lack of self-esteem shows, I’ll need to work on that, having more confidence will help with that.
